all recycled bags, purses, & totes!!

so here you have it....my recycling fabric mania! i'm having a lot of fun making these bags and feeling good about it too. the main part of the bag is made up of placemats or rugs i find at thrift stores and the straps are belts or silk neckties i also collect from various thrift stores here in town. another bonus from being eco-friendly is that they are washable....i don't know about you but my lip gloss (that i'm addicted to) has a hard time keeping it's lid on and gets all over everything! they are made to last too....my step-daughter (just graduated from high school) has been schlepping hers around town for a month now and it's still in one piece! and she's got everything in there...including a tire pump for her bike!

i can't believe two months have past since i last wrote! i don't know about you but i've been busy, busy, busy! when i'm not in my magical room of creativity; i'm juggling my pet care business BOISE PET CARE, volunteering at the idaho humane society clinic, and fostering dogs/cats for the IHS as well. AND, i've got 3 dogs/2 cats of my own that demand a certain amount of attention.

plus a girls gotta have a social life! geez louise! anywhoo....i've also been taking some sewing classes and in the next couple of days i'll be posting some of my projects that i am turning into a fabric line of recycled pheartsb! very usable creations.

Go do it: Buy hip, handmade, local stuff from Idaho indie works show

Etsy.com is an innovative marketplace for handmade goods and a community for the people who make them. More than 100 Treasure Valley artists sell their creations on the site, and 38 of them got together to form a local arm called Idaho Indie Works. The group includes painters, knitters, jewelers, masters of "trashion" and more, and their colorful pieces will be introduced to the public at a First Thursday event in Downtown Boise. More than 20 crafty folks will show their wares in the bright space of Decor Furniture Concepts, with the added bonuses of live music, refreshments and "walking art." ...to read more click here

i dream about pom-poms!!

here's a peek into my pom-pom mania! i love the way they feel! for all those who like texture....this is the pendant for you! i found that when i wear these pendants they double as stress reducers. i had a bought of road rage the other day and when i rubbed the little pom-pom on my heart pendant, it all went away. i think it's a soft reminder to have some love and tolerance for those who can really get on our nerves....yup, these tlc warm and fuzzies are absolutely fabulous.

i like to melt things!

my next series of jewelry i am creating from a huge tub of plastic pony beads i found at a local thrift store. i'm melting them in my oven and forming them into various heart shapes...none of them are perfect and that's also the point/statement i'm making with these. i'm exploring different ways of embellishing them and these are what i've got so far....
